EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, Louisiana — Anti-corruption crusader Govenor Bobby Jindal was caught off guard just after his return flight from Los Angeles after a recent taping of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Officials, acting on a tip, apprehended Jindal after a brief foot pursuit on the tarmac of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport for charges related to the alleged acceptance of a Tonight Show gift basket.

Jindal’s ‘Swag Bag’, as the gift baskets are known on the streets of Hollywood, had a street value that far exceeded the newly passed ethics reform cap of $50 limit for accepted gifts.

Found on Jindal’s person was a bottle of Jay Leno-brand BBQ sauce, a DVD set of “The Best of Branford Marsalis,” a bottle of Kiehl’s hand moisturizer, an iPod touch, and a bottle of Elevate designer Artesian tonic water.

Authorities also noted that Jindal showed recent evidence of consumption of chocolate about the face and hands. DNA testing later confirmed the chocolate matched a half-eaten bar of Lindt Extra Dark Swiss Chocolate found in Jindal’s carry-on bag.

Jindal is being held in the custody of Sheriff Sid Gautreux in East Baton Rouge Parish. No comments have been issued by law enforcement or by the Govenor’s Office.
